Well…it has finally happened. We have added a Grand Seiko to our selection of fine watches. With a history reaching back 60 years, a long list of horological innovations and a design aesthetic that honors the Japanese aesthetic of light, shadow, and perfect flatness the Grand Seiko has earned an ever growing, ravenous fan base. I have to admit that until now I have been a bit of a sceptic regarding the furor and juggernaut of hype surrounding the brand. But, since my encounter with this clean, elegant and refined Grand Seiko I will admit that the hype is completely justified. The watch at hand is the GMT version boasting a most simple dual time zone function. The stainless steel, Coliseum style case houses a recessed, clean black dial with the power reserve between the 8 and 9 hour makers. The 24 hour GMT bezel has a sapphire crystal cover over the well lumed numbers. At the heart of this watch beats calibre 9R66 Spring Drive a Grand Seiko innovation that combines the precision of a quartz movement with the motive force of a mainspring. As a bonus this watch just looks cool on the wrist and will create a buzz with every subtle glance at the time. This watch comes with box and papers.
