Many watches can be considered Iconic or Archetypal but few reach the status of Legendary! To obtain this stature, a watch must possess historical significance, horological innovation and ground breaking design. Needless to say, this Omega Seamaster PloProf seamlessly combines those 3 elements. Developed in conjunction with Comex (a company specializing in engineering and deep diving operations) and the legendary Jacques Cousteau, Omega conceived and developed what was the first waterproof watch designed and built solely for the diving professional. After 4 years of extensive research and development the watch was introduced to the public in 1970. It was nicknamed PloProf by the French speaking development team. The name PloProf is derived from the French term PLOngeur PROFessionnel (Professional Diver). This watch is undoubtedly a beast, and not suited to everyone’s taste. But, if you want a historically significant, innovative and all around cool timepiece that will grab the attention of other watch enthusiasts, then this one is for you. This watch comes with box and papers.
