The Heuer Autavia was originally designed in 1933 as a dash mounted timing instrument for use in both rally cars and aircraft. The name is derived from a combination of the words Automobile and Aviation, hence Autavia. In 1962 Jack Heuer took the concept and design to a new level when Heuer introduced the first Autavia wrist watch. To celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Autavia Tag Heuer has reissued the iconic design of the original. The beauty of this watch is having the reliability of a modern timepiece coupled with a striking vintage design and style. This watch is a winner and it looks amazing on the wrist. The 42mm stainless steel case has classic mushroom shaped chronograph pushers, faceted number markers with mustard luminous for a distinctly vintage feel. The 12 hour bezel can be use to keep track of elapsed time or function as a GMT indicator. The beads of rice style bracelet is comfortable on the wrist and compliments the vintage look and appeal perfectly. This watch comes complete with original box, papers and a secondary brown leather strap.
