Jewellery Designer

Melissa Falcioni is a goldsmith and jewellery designer encompassing over ten years experience. She receives great joy in restoring damaged items to be cherished and worn for their original beauty. Originally a professional theater and lighting designer, she employs her experience with the elements of design from the macrocosm of the stage to the microcosm of the jewellery world. Her love of light, colour, line, setting and space have proven valuable resource to draw inspiration from the world into her jewellery creations. Melissa caters her aesthetic as client specific, informed by her clients story and vision of their perfect piece, creating through developing a design concept and evolving it to singular customized piece.

The Design Process

Creating your own jewellery is a simple process whether you design online or in person at our store.

Start a Project

1. Consultation

We begin with a Design Consultation that will be a $175 charge. It can either be in person or virtually, to gather necessary information and your design inspirations. We work with you to understand your story and final vision for your custom jewellery piece, while offering our expert advise and recommendations where needed. 

If you are reusing any jewellery, we recommend you bring them or send us photos at this time, so we can incorporate them from the outset.

2. Follow Up & Quote

Sometimes we can offer a quote on the spot during an initial Consultation or conversation. For more complicated designs, or should we need to source gemstones, we may take up to 10 days to get acurate pricing for you. We will always work with you and within your budget to get you the best value possible.

If any gemstones need to be sourced for the design, we will work with our suppliers to find the best options for you to choose from. We can send you photos or you can come and view them in person.

3. Design

Using state of the art computer programs, our designers will develop a 3D Computer Rendering (CAD) of your design so we can see and alter to exact specifications. We do not proceed until you are completely satisfied with the designs.

If you are reusing gemstones in existing jewellery, we may dismantle your items at this time to get exact mesaurements necessary for an accurate computer rendering. 

Typically this process takes 7-10 business days to complete.

4. Wax, Cast & Setting

Once you have approved the final design, our expert craftsman begin work to create your custom piece. Starting with a wax mold that is cast in your precious metal of choice. Next we move to setting the gemstones, personalization and finally finishing and polishing.

Typically this process takes 2-4  weeks to complete.

5.  Finale

After strict quality assurance inspection to ensure unparalleled quality in the finished product, here comes the best part of the entire custom jewellery process… presenting you with your final custom piece!

Your item is carefully packaged and presented to you with accompanying appraisal (when requested).
